Bird Spotting - A social-emotional development & executive functioning skill-building learning plan

This learning plan is based on the Washington State Early Learning and Development Guidelines (link on my homepage) for children ages 3-4, focusing on #2 Building relationships. It encourages students to build foundational social-emotional and executive-functioning skills through communicating and listening, using their home language and preferred communication methods. Students will draw on the information they already know while integrating new information and practicing self-regulation skills through calm observation and guided reflection. This activity assumes competence, is accessible, and fosters collaboration between students and adults from planning to reflection.
